Hand hygiene video competition: $200 cinema tickets for second place

A new incentive to enter the HHNZ video competition is now up for grabs!

$200 cinema tickets have been added to the video competition prize pool and will go to the team that achieves second place for their hand hygiene video – kindly donated by Tim Garrett (HHNZ helpdesk) at Quality Hub – thank you! 

The HHNZ video competition seeks entries from groups of hospital-based healthcare workers who have produced a promotional video that highlights the importance of good hand hygiene practice and the 5 moments approach.

HHNZ encourages teams to come up with compelling, fun, and innovative ways to promote the importance of good hand hygiene practice in our hospitals. An ideal hand hygiene video will:

  • Highlight the importance of hand hygiene to patient safety in New Zealand hospitals through the reduction of hospital associated infections

  • Demonstrate the 5 moments approach to hand hygiene

  • Involve as many individuals in your ward/unit/service area as possible

  • Excite and motivate viewers (and those who took part) to improve hand hygiene.

Do you have what it takes to produce a fun but educational video to promote the importance of good hand hygiene in a hospital setting?

If you do, you could be in the running to win $1000 for your charity of choice, proudly donated by Hand Hygiene New Zealand (HHNZ).

HHNZ is calling for teams of DHB healthcare workers to script, film and submit a video that highlights the importance of good hand hygiene practice, as well as the five moments approach.

The winning team will receive $1000 for their health-related charity of choice and will also be profiled in the November issue of The Clean Hands Chronicle. Videos will be made available via the HHNZ website.
The competition opened for entries on 05 May (World Hand Hygiene Day) and closes at 5pm on Friday 31 August 2012.

Exciting national hand hygiene video competition launched!

Hand Hygiene New Zealand is excited to launch a national hand hygiene promotional video competition to DHBs throughout the country.

We are calling for teams of healthcare workers to submit a hand hygiene promotional video, which they have scripted, filmed and edited, of no more than four minutes in length. The video needs to promote the importance of hand hygiene to patient safety, and should promote the 5 moments approach to hand hygiene.

Asia Pacific hand Hygiene Excellence and Innovation Awards 2013

The University of Geneva Hospitals WHO Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control and Aesculap Academy is calling for entries for the Asia Pacific Hand Hygiene Excellence Award.

The Award is conceived as a platform to recognize, honour, and celebrate those hospitals and healthcare worker groups who have used their enthusiasm and knowledge to improve patient safety through the successful implementation of the WHO multimodal strategy in their healthcare facility.
